MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 2, 2007 – The Minnesota Tekne Awards named Capella University (www.capella.edu), an accredited, fully online university based in Minneapolis, the winner in its Technology User category at an award ceremony last night at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Capella University Offers New Early Childhood Education Specialization within its MS in Education Online Degree Program

MINNEAPOLIS, October 29, 2007 – Capella University (www.capella.edu), an accredited*, fully online university based in Minneapolis, announced today that it is offering a new Early Childhood Education specialization within its Master of Science in Education online degree program. Lead teachers in state-funded pre-kindergarten programs are required to have specialized training in early childhood education in 28 states, according to the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER). Capella University Names Dr. Feranda Williamson Dean of School of Undergraduate Studies

Dr. Williamson, who most recently served as the school’s associate dean, has more than 25 years experience in higher education leadership positions. As dean, she will act as the chief academic officer of Capella University’s School of Undergraduate Studies, which has more than 3,000 students enrolled in three online degree programs and 19 specializations.
