MINNEAPOLIS, October 30, 2007 – Dr. AnnaLynn Schooley, a core faculty member with Capella University (www.capella.edu), an accredited*, fully online university based in Minneapolis, has been named president-elect of the Florida Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She will serve a three-year term. Dr. Schooley teaches clinical courses, such as pre-practicum residency, and field experience courses, where students intern in mental health agencies, in the online university’s School of Human Services. MINNEAPOLIS, October 29, 2007 – Capella University (www.capella.edu), an accredited*, fully online university based in Minneapolis, announced today that it is offering a new Early Childhood Education specialization within its Master of Science in Education online degree program. Lead teachers in state-funded pre-kindergarten programs are required to have specialized training in early childhood education in 28 states, according to the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER). MINNEAPOLIS, October 26, 2007 – Capella University (www.capella.edu), an accredited*, fully online university based in Minneapolis, announced today that it is offering two new specializations within its Bachelor of Science in Public Safety online degree program—Homeland Security and Security Management. The specializations are designed to help meet employment needs within these growing fields. The Homeland Security specialization focuses on managing public security in relation to federal resources, while the Security Management specialization focuses on preparing individuals for leadership within the private security field. MINNEAPOLIS, October 25, 2007 – Capella University (www.capella.edu), an accredited*, fully online university based in Minneapolis, has named Feranda Williamson, EdD, as dean of its School of Undergraduate Studies. Dr. Williamson, who most recently served as the school’s associate dean, has more than 25 years experience in higher education leadership positions. As dean, she will act as the chief academic officer of Capella University’s School of Undergraduate Studies, which has more than 3,000 students enrolled in three online degree programs and 19 specializations.
